Many around the world will say "Happy Easter" to each other and to total strangers. They do not realize that the true meaning of Easter has nothing to do with the Resurrection Remembrance Day. Easter is a pagan holiday and should NOT be celebrated by Christians at all. The Easter that man celebrates, especially here in the United States, is filled with marshmallow rabbits and baby chickens (chicks) As well as lots and lots of candy.
The Name itself is of pagan origins. The name "Easter" was derived from "Eostre," originally a Saxon word (Eostre), denoting a minor goddess of the Anglo-Saxons. This "goddess" was over fertility and reproduction, which is why rabbits and chicks and eggs are used, representative of fertility and reproduction. It has absolutely nothing to do with Christ or His Resurrection. The "Easter" the world celebrates is there to cloud a person’s mind and keep them away from the real truth of the Resurrection Remembrance Day.
Resurrection Remembrance Day is a day to remember and reflect upon the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, God's only incarnate son, who took upon Himself the sins of the entire world, all sins past, present, and future and paid the ultimate price in our place, when He was crucified and died upon the cross (Matthew 27:32-56 and Isaiah 53:5).
Christ did all of the work on the cross for us. All we have to do is believe and accept Him for who He is and what He did in our placed on the cross:
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
(Acts 16:31)
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
(Ephesians 2:8-9)
Christ was crucified on a Friday, three days later on a Sunday, the first day of the week, Christ rose from the dead. Not spiritual as many falsely believe, but physically. Christ's own words confirm this fact when He appr eared to His Apostles and they thought he was a ghost or a spirit:
Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
(Luke 24:39)
This settles any controversy of question as to if Christ was raised spiritual or physically. If anyone or any group denies that He was risen physically as Scripture tells us, then they are in error.
In His own words, Jesus Tells us:
I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the father, but by me.
(John 14:6)
These are the truths we are to share with the world. Not the lies that the so-called "Easter" tells them. Christ Himself commands us:
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
(Mark 16:15-16)
Follow the Command Christ Himself has given us. Go out there and share the truth of what this season Is REALLY all about with everyone you can. Help them come out of darkness and into the Light of TRUTH found only through God’s Son. Jesus Christ.
Before closing here are some final words from Christ Himself:
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
(Revelation 3:20)
Right now, this very minute while you are thinking about it, if you have not opened the door to your heart and invite Jesus in. Now is the perfect time to do so. So, what are you waiting for?
