It’s that time of year again. People are out rushing about trying to find the perfect gift for relatives and friends. Some of these presents may be very lavish, while others may be plain. Some may be very expensive and some inexpensive. Some large and some small. But it doesn’t matter, everybody on their list is covered.

Everybody but one person that is. He is the one who gave all of us the ultimate gift that no one can top. What did He give us? He gave us a gift that is not meant for us to keep, but to share with everyone that we can. The gift of salvation by grace through faith. He died upon the cross over two thousand years ago and took our place for the punishment that all of us deserve. He provided a way for eternal life and salvation. Something that no one else has ever been able to do or will ever be able to do.

I speak of none other than the only Incarnate Son of God, Jesus Christ, the only one through whom salvation may be attained. Without Him there is only condemnation and eternal punishment. There is no other way. Nothing even comes close. No one can earn salvation; they must come through Jesus Christ and Jesus Christ alone.

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
(John 14:6)

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
(Acts 4:12)

However, this gift is not for us to keep for ourselves. It was meat for us, and yet was also meant for us to share it with others ("Go ye therefore, and teach all nations...." – Matthew 28:19) That is our Divine calling from God for accepting the gift of salvation and eternal life through His Son Jesus Christ, to share it with others and spread it around. So that they too may obtain forgiveness of sins and salvation and eternal life.

Now spreading this gift from God may not be as easy as you may think. The world rejected Jesus Christ over two thousand years ago when they crucified Him and they continue to do so today. Many will say it is nonsense or more than just faith is required, that you must also do works to prove yourself worthy. None of what they say has any real meaning. That is just the "god of this world" (2 Corinthians 4:4) trying to prevent them from learning and accepting the truth.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
(Ephesians 2:8-9)

Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
(Galatians 2:16)

This Christmas season and throughout the next year to come, go out there and share the message and gift that God has for everyone. That salvation and eternal life is a free gift from God, through his son Jesus Christ.

Only when they have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour can they then truly have a MERRY CHRISTMAS!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE
